Hello! I'm Inger Kenobi and I stopped shopping for clothes for a year. Then I wrote a book about it.

During my non-shopping year, I developed a set of handy guidelines that will help us stop overconsuming and start becoming more mindful and aware.

I've collected all of these guidelines in this helpful PDF.

Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars Very Insightful

I started to read this book, and went right into my closet. I need virtually NOTHING! I have begun decluttering as well, because I have been inspired by Inger’s thoughtful, painstaking research.

5 out of 5 stars I highly recommend it.

How shopping habits affect the environment has never been something I have given much thought to. When I go into the store for 'retail therapy' I almost always come out with something. Now, after reading this book, I wonder how I could ever have done that without considering the hands that make the garments, and the immense toll it takes on lives and the environment.
'The year I stopped shopping' shows an entirely different approach to help shift a life time habit, and paves the way to becoming a conscientious consumer.
This is a lively read, personable and humorous. I highly recommend it.

I’m excited to try my own stop-shop because of this marvelous book! I fell In love with the narrator! She’s so thoughtful, funny and fascinating! I found myself wishing I could go on her daily adventures!! And I deeply admired her honesty and thoughtful process as she faced her craving to possess more clothes! This book is juicy and gave me a lot of good food for thought around Fashion. I feel more determined than ever to prioritize creativity over consumption!
